| Kindergarten
photography is often linked with school photography,
but in reality it is a fundamentally different
process. Unlike school shoots, kindergartens present
a totally unstructured environment with children
that are too young to be managed and ordered.
In most cases there is no data available prior
to the shoot and the children that are present
vary on a day to day basis.
dScope
provides a completely different workflow for working
with kindergartens. This workflow is designed
to manage the unstructured environment and help
the operator to sort and match the captured images,
and provide either proof sheets for on-consignment
jobs, or packages for pre-paid jobs. |
| A
typical dScope implementation for a kindergarten
photography organisation will include dScope Core,
the Combifit module, the Packages module and the
Kindergarten Module.
Other modules that organisations may use are the
Shoot Manager and dScope Online.
dScope
starts with the unstructured shoot data that is
generally the result of a series of shoot days
within the kindergarten environment. It starts
with group images if these are available and allows
the user to select the children out of the group
and then match all the other images into sets
for each child. The system automatically records
which group image each child is found in so that
these can later be used to create packages including
group images with full name lists included.
Once
the children's images have been sorted, the images
can be adjusted and prepared and the product can
be built. dScope supports both the pre-paid and
the on-consignment business model allowing the
creation of either fully completed packages or
proof sheets that can be used to generate orders.
|
|
| It
uses a workflow approach that allows users to
follow a series of steps to import, select, adjust
and prepare the images, then print and collate
the product. The steps in the system can be customised
to match the workflow used within your organisation
so that the cost and trauma involved in the changeover
to dScope can be minimised. |
The
screen above shows a typical workflow that has been
setup for a kindergarten photography customer and leads
them through the process from importing the images through
to the printing and collating of the product.
In
a typical kindergarten shoot, dScope will allow you
to perform the following functions:
 |
Design
appropriate package pages and combine those pages
in different ways to create the offerings that will
be available to the customers. |
 |
Import
all the group and individual images from a card
or any other digital storage. |
 |
Create
a listing of all individuals by clicking on their
image within a group image. |
 |
Select
and match all the individual images into 'sets'
of images for each child. |
 |
Adjust
all the images for each child to assure image quality
and consistency. |
 |
Create
draft group images with full name lists automatically. |
 |
Create
formatted proof sheets for all the children in a
single step. |
 |
Create
package and presentation pages for all children
in a single step. |
 |
Design
and build the composite images, including rotating
composites. |
 |
Print
and collate the products |
The
dScope Shoot Manager can also be used to manage your
customer relationships, support your sales process and
analyse the value of a customer over multiple years
and shoots. The
dScope Online solution is also available to place the
images onto the web and accept orders online.

There
are many other things that dScope can do to improve
your business, please feel free to contact us for more
information.

| Core
Module |
The
Core module contains all the basic image management
and modification tools as well as being the central
component of the whole dScope Imaging suite. The
Core module is a pre-requisite for every dScope
Imaging implementation. The Core module also contains
the capability to create 'Transforms'. |
| Combifit
Module |
The
Combifit module allows users to create new images
by dragging and dropping multiple images onto a
page. The images can be sized, positioned, overlaid
and cropped. There are a series of extra tools such
as backgrounds, drop shadows, rotation and borders.
The arrangement of the images can be saved as a
template and reused many times. |
| Package
Module |
The
Package module allow you to create package products
and package templates. The packages can have up
to twenty image boxes per page and the page can
have a background image assigned to allow special
branding or designs to be included. |
| Kindergarten
Module |
The
Kindergarten module supports shooting in what is
commonly a very unstructured environment. The module
allows you to shoot to card or PC on site and save
the images by rooms, years or any other grouping.
Group shots can be imported into the system and
the children can be selected out of the group shots
with the system automatically linking the child
to that group shot. You can then collect and sort
the images, grouping all the images for each child.
The system then supports the production of pre-paid
packages or proof sheets for 'on consignment' ordering. |
| Shoot
Manager |
The
Shoot Manager is a customer management and sales
support solution for organisations dealing with
schools, kindergartens, sports associations etc.
The module allows you to keep records of the customer
and all your interactions with that customer. You
can also store all the information associated with
shoots for that customer and analyse the financial
return gained from those shoots. |
| Connectors
Module |
The
Connector modules provide automated connectivity
to a number of commonly used print devices. The
connectors allow you to submit large and complex
orders to a particular print device in a single
step. Connectors have been developed for the AGFA
range of dLabs (via dWorkflow), Konica Minolta labs
(R2/R3), Fuji Frontier labs (via C8), Copal Dye
Sub printers, and any devise that has a functional
Windows interface. A connectors is currently in
development for Noritsu labs. For any devices that
do not have a connector, the system is capable of
submitting the orders via a hot folder. New connectors
are developed when customers present with a need
to connect to a device not already covered. |
| dScope
Online |
The
dScope Online solution includes a website which
allows you to display images, items and services
online and accept orders into a shopping cart. |
